There will soon be an opening on the Civil Service Commission. The Civil Service Commission is a three member body appointed by the Mayor to adopt rules consistent with state and local law regarding the recruitment, testing, and establishment of eligibility lists for hiring employees of the City’s Police and Fire Departments. In addition, the Commission has the authority to hear and decide cases involving the appeal of disciplinary actions such as suspension, demotion, and discharge of classified personnel.

The City of College Place has several Boards and Commissions that assist the City Council by reviewing various matters and making recommendations to the Council. This is a great way to be of service to your community and have a voice in the direction of your City. Please think about volunteering your time and sharing some of your expertise with your community.

Lodging Tax Advisory Commission meets on the first Thursday of November each year. Time TBD
Parks, Arbor and Recreation Commission meets the fourth Friday of each month at 8:00 AM
Utilities and Transportation Advisory Commission meets the second Thursday of February, May, August and November at 3:30 PM
The Youth Advisory Commission meets the third Wednesday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October and November at 4:00 PM (Note, time and date is subject to change in September of each year.)
