The City of Walla Walla’s Community Development Block Grant program, with support from Walla Walla County, announced today that applications for the Walla Walla Small Business Relief Loan and Grant Program will open on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 9 a.m. PST
Grant Program Overview
The Small Business Grant Program will be administered by Mercy Corps Northwest, offering a grant from $1,000 to up to $10,000. To apply, businesses must submit a photo ID and financial documents from 2019 along with their application. Those in business for less than a year, sole proprietors, microenterprises, and small businesses with up to 10 employees are eligible to apply. Total grant funding available is $117,000.
Loan Program Overview
Business Resilience Loans will be administered by Craft3. A local review committee made up of City, Walla Walla County, Port of Walla Walla, and other local economic development officials will screen applicants for eligibility and send the top qualified candidates on to Craft3. To apply, businesses must be open for a minimum of two years, show a profit in 2019, have a credit score of 640 or higher, and fill out the screening application. Those who fulfill eligibility requirements will then be invited by Craft3 to apply. Only the businesses referred by the local review committee will be considered for funding. Total lending pool is $450,000.
Due to limited funding, and credit requirements, not every business that applies will receive assistance.
