This project entails construction of six foot wide concrete sidewalk and abutting curb &* gutter and pavement repair throughout the SE 8th Avenue corridor from College Avenue to Larch Avenue. The College to Birch portion is financed by a Federal Department of Transportation Surface Transportation Alternatives Grant through the Walla Walla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization. The portion from Birch to Larch Avenue is primarily financed through a State Transportation Improvement Board Active Transportation Program Grant. This project will also entail curb bump outs and a rapid flashing beacon at the 8th & Larch intersection to facilitate safe access to the Lions Park area. This project will be engineered throughout 2024 into 2025. Construction is estimated to run between 2025 and 2026.
