In April, the Countywide Planning Policies (CPPs) Update Project team, composed of staff and elected officials from Walla Walla County and all the cities within the county, provided a short overview of this project.

The team also conducted a public survey to gain a better understanding of residents’ concerns and topics of interest. According to that survey, residents feel the County and cities can work together better to address housing issues. The team has taken the feedback from the first survey and is using it to help revise the CPPs and develop strategies for the implementation of these policies.
The purpose of the countywide planning policies is to provide guidance that ensures a consistent and coordinated approach to planning for housing that is available to all segments of the community. Continued participation and input from the public will help the Project Management Team successfully create a plan that meets the needs of everyone.

The project team is inviting residents to help guide them in this process by providing your feedback in another short survey. The team will use residents' feedback to help them decide where to focus their work throughout the spring and summer.
