Neither the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or Walla Walla County can directly assist individuals or businesses. They are encouraged to develop response plans specific to the flood hazard in their areas.
Koncrete Industries at 502 N. 13th Ave in Walla Walla has unfilled sandbags and sand. Their phone number is 509-525-9143. (Note that they are closed on the weekend.)
The USACE has updated their flood assistance page on the Walla Walla District website (http://www.nww.usace.army.mil/Missions/Flood-Assistance/), which contains potentially useful information, such as their Flood-Fight Handbook: Preparing for a Flood (bit.ly/3DZPZgE) and Flood Fighting: How To Use Sandbags (bit.ly/3DxJEHD).
There are alternatives to sandbags that can be stored until they are needed. We suggest a Google search for 'sandbag alternatives.' We
found a list of products at: https://www.bestproductsreviews.com/sandbag-alternative (we cannot attest to review of the products on the list) All of the products are available on Amazon.
