Notice of Public Hearing: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Grant Applications

The City of College Place is submitting two grant applications to the State of Washington Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. One grant application is to fund the construction of sidewalks along streets lacking pedestrian infrastructure below a total of $750,000. Another grant application will be submitted to partner with Craft3 and fund a business grant program for the College Avenue corridor (Blalock to Sunny). A public hearing will be held on both grant applications on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at 7 PM at College Place City Hall (625 S. College Ave, College Place).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the City of College Place City Council in the Council Chambers, 625 S College Ave, College Place, Washington, on May 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of the public hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons and persons residing in the central core area. 

Up to $750,000 may be available to the City of College Place on a statewide competitive basis to fund public facility, community facility, economic development, planning and affordable housing projects that principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. 

An outline of the proposed Sidewalk Grant project will be available for review at the Administration Offices of the City of College Place after Monday, April 23rd, 2018. Comments may also be submitted in writing to City of College Place City Clerk, until 4:00 p.m. Friday May 4th, 2018.

An outline of the proposed College Avenue Business Grant & Loan Concept project will be available for review at the Administration Offices of the City of College Place after Monday, April 23rd, 2018.
