Update: Please note that pavement repair on SW 6th (College to Bade) is taking longer due to some subsurface pavement issues discovered with the roadway during the excavation for the sidewalk.

The City has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) From the State of Washington to construct six-foot concrete sidewalk on the north side of SW 6th Street (College to Davis) and the north side of SW 8th Street (College to Bade). Nelson Group is the contractor and Anderson Perry is the engineer for this project. Additionally, water valves are getting replaced in the middle of the SW 6th & Bade intersections.  Traffic will be restricted to local traffic only throughout construction. Detours are posted (SW 4th and SW 9th).

The City of College Place accepted a grant for $464,530 from the State Department of Commerce via its Community Development Block Grant program to construct 2,659 linear feet of five foot wide sidewalk in key areas of the community lacking sidewalk. As of January 16th, 2020 the City has put out the final engineering work out to bid with a due date of February 10th, 2020. The sidewalk segments to be constructed include: SW Davis Avenue (Whitman Drive to SE 3rd Street), SW Bade Avenue (SW 5th to 6th Streets), SW Bade Avenue (SW 7th to 10th Streets), and SW 12th Street (SW College to Bade Avenues). The improvements will be constructed on city-owned right-of-way. Anderson Perry Engineers finished the 100% Construction Plans and NEPA document. It is currently planned that the project will go out to bid over the Winter with early Spring 2021 construction.
