This project replaces drinking water well #2 and is now known as Well #6. Drinking Water Well #2 experienced severe well shaft/geological issues and through an assessment by Keller Engineering it was determined that it needed to be replaced. The City successfully lobbied for financial assistance in the form of a Legislative Appropriation and a State Department of Health Drinking Water Revolving Fund Grant & Loan. The engineering team is charged with designing the well, well house, and associated mechanical equipment is RH2 Engineering/Keller Engineering. Schneider Well Drilling drilled the well shaft to a depth of 800 feet. Initial pump tests have indicated it has the ability to pump up to 5,000 gallons per minute. The engineering team is now working on final engineering for the well house and mechanical equipment. The engineering should wrap up by Fall 2021. The well house and mechanical equipment will be constructed throughout Late 2021/Early 2022. The City is aiming to have the well online by Spring 2022.
